Bolton High School PTSA
Dates to Remember
Welcome to all my favorite Wildcats!

The PTSA wants you to feel welcome and be a part
of not only the PTSA but be a part of Bolton! And
we want the students to be as involved as the
parents and community stakeholders! As our
students transition through high school, I look back
at what PTA or PTSA involvement has meant over
the years for a lot of parents.

At the elementary level, there is a sense that
parents are supposed to participate…go on field
trips, send in supplies, read in the classroom, bake
items for teacher luncheons, check homework,
ensure that your child is sent to school well-rested,
well-nourished and ready and on time for each
school day.

At the middle school level, all the same things apply,
but there is a sense of understanding that you have
the option to be involved. As the students transition
through middle school they either blatantly or
passively let you know they don’t want you to be
there.

And now we are here at the high school level…
many parents feel that it is their job to “step back”
and let their student rise or fall of their own doing
and let the system take it from there.

So, as a high school parent, what do you do to be
involved yet allow your student to begin to transition
into adulthood? We may certainly start by creating
an atmosphere where learning is important and
expected. Encourage our students to be on time,
every day, ready to learn. Get involved in the
activities that your students are interested in. Be
willing to offer your talents and time to support the
faculty and staff and the PTSA. Encourage your
student to join the PTSA and learn the process to
begin to be an advocate for not only their education,
but for their fellow students and those who are
following behind them.

So as we begin our new school year, take a fresh
look at how you wish to be involved in your student’
s education. I invite you to join PTSA, participate
when and where you can and be a part of our
bigger Bolton family! Please fill out our volunteer
form and let us know where you might want to plug
in and be active. If you don’t see anything listed on
the form that catches your eye, please take a
moment to jot down where you think you might want
to help.

I look forward to a fabulous and successful year!

Bolton High School's 4th Annual Mini-Mall will once again be
held prior to Open House!

It is your chance to purchase Spirit Items and  help support
the various organizations of Bolton.  Don't have time for dinner
prior to Open House, then you are in luck!  Clubs and
Boosters will be selling food items and drinks so that  you
don't have to worry about squeezing dinner into the night!

The Mini-Mall is held in the Cafeteria from 4:30 - 6 pm.
Open House will begin at 6 pm.
